In December 2018, Ruth Strauss, wife of Sir Andrew Strauss the former England cricket captain, lost her life to a form of non-smoking related lung cancer. The Ruth Strauss Foundation was launched in her memory to provide professional emotional support for families facing the death of a parent from cancer – and drive the need for more research into non-smoking lung cancers.
